The Listening Painting 2006

Proposal for an exhibition in which visitors were invited to share any information relevant to the missing original, contributing to an effort sponsored by friends of the artist to locate Lucian Freud’s portrait of Francis Bacon before his death. The painting was stolen from the Neue Nationalgalerie in Berlin in 1988. Despite repeated attempts over the years, its whereabouts remain unknown.
