Proposal for an exhibition inviting visitors to share any information that might help locate Lucian Freud’s stolen portrait of Francis Bacon, part of an effort sponsored by Freud’s friends to recover the painting before Freud died. The work was stolen from the Neue Nationalgalerie in Berlin in 1988 and its whereabouts remain unknown. The frame was constructed in two parts, with a microphone concealed inside, positioned just behind the woodworm holes
